About Colorado
Colorado has 64 counties, 75 cities, 197 towns and 208 Census-designated communities, and about 6,012,561 people (2025 estimate) on 268,419 km² (103,637 sq mi) of land. Denver is both the capital and the largest city, with 740,613 people. It borders Arizona, Kansas, Nebraska, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Utah and Wyoming.
El Paso County is the most populous county (757,040 people) and Hinsdale County the least (753); Las Animas County is the largest by land area (12,362 km²) and Broomfield County the smallest (85 km²).
