About Nebraska
Nebraska has 93 counties, 147 cities, 381 villages and 62 Census-designated communities, and about 2,018,006 people (2025 estimate) on 198,950 km² (76,815 sq mi) of land. The capital is Lincoln; the largest city is Omaha, with 488,797 people. It borders Colorado, Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, South Dakota and Wyoming.
Douglas County is the most populous county (606,460 people) and McPherson County the least (369); Cherry County is the largest by land area (15,437 km²) and Sarpy County the smallest (616 km²).
