About Wyoming
Wyoming has 23 counties, 19 cities, 80 towns and 104 Census-designated communities, and about 588,753 people (2025 estimate) on 251,458 km² (97,088 sq mi) of land. Cheyenne is both the capital and the largest city, with 66,507 people. It borders Colorado, Idaho, Montana, Nebraska, South Dakota and Utah.
Laramie County is the most populous county (102,938 people) and Niobrara County the least (2,341); Sweetwater County is the largest by land area (27,006 km²) and Hot Springs County the smallest (5,191 km²).
