About Utah

Utah has 29 counties, 152 cities, 103 towns and 78 Census-designated communities, and about 3,538,904 people (2025 estimate) on 213,922 km² (82,596 sq mi) of land. Salt Lake City is both the capital and the largest city, with 218,428 people. It borders Arizona, Colorado, Idaho, Nevada, New Mexico and Wyoming.

Salt Lake County is the most populous county (1,220,916 people) and Daggett County the least (934); San Juan County is the largest by land area (20,263 km²) and Davis County the smallest (841 km²).
