The Canton of Valais has 13 districts and about 376,113 people (2025) on 5,214 km² (2,013 sq mi). Sion is both the capital and the largest city, with 37,844 people. It borders Bern, Uri, Ticino, Vaud, France and Italy.
Martigny is the most populous district (54,518 people) and Goms the least (4,446); Visp is the largest by area (864 km²) and Sion the smallest (131 km²).
