About Arkansas

Arkansas has 75 counties, 314 cities, 186 towns and 125 Census-designated communities, and about 3,114,791 people (2025 estimate) on 134,660 km² (51,992 sq mi) of land. Little Rock is both the capital and the largest city, with 206,427 people. It borders Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, Oklahoma, Tennessee and Texas.

Pulaski County is the most populous county (404,611 people) and Calhoun County the least (4,632); Union County is the largest by land area (2,691 km²) and Lafayette County the smallest (1,371 km²).
