About Pennsylvania

Pennsylvania has 67 counties, 59 cities, 1 town, 952 boroughs, 148 townships and 875 Census-designated communities, and about 13,059,432 people (2025 estimate) on 115,882 km² (44,742 sq mi) of land. The capital is Harrisburg; the largest city is Philadelphia, with 1,574,281 people. It borders Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Ohio and West Virginia.

Philadelphia County is the most populous county (1,574,281 people) and Cameron County the least (4,211); Lycoming County is the largest by land area (3,183 km²) and Montour County the smallest (338 km²).
