About Ontario

Ontario has 49 census divisions, 51 cities, 89 towns, 11 villages and 201 other municipalities on this map, and about 16,258,260 people (2025 estimate) on 892,412 km² (344,562 sq mi) of land. Toronto is both the capital and the largest city, with 3,271,830 people. It borders Manitoba and Quebec, and the US states of Michigan, Minnesota and New York.

Toronto is the most populous census division (3,271,830 people) and Manitoulin District the least (14,872); Kenora District is the largest by land area (395,432 km²) and Toronto the smallest (631 km²).
