Ireland has 26 counties and about 5,149,139 people (2022) on 70,274 km² (27,133 sq mi). Dublin is both the capital and the largest city, with 1,263,219 people. It borders Northern Ireland.

Dublin is the most populous county (1,458,154 people) and Leitrim the least (35,199); Cork is the largest by area (7,503 km²) and Louth the smallest (826 km²).
