Which continents surround each ocean?
The Atlantic lies between the Americas and Europe and Africa. The Indian Ocean lies between eastern Africa, southern Asia and Australia. The Pacific separates Asia and Australia from the Americas. Look north for the Arctic Ocean and around Antarctica for the Southern Ocean.
Why does the Pacific appear twice on the map?
The world is round, but this map is flat. Its edges cut through the Pacific, so you see parts of the same ocean on both sides. The five named oceans are also connected: their names describe regions of one global ocean, not five separate bodies of water.
