The Baltic states has 3 countries, home to about 6 million people across 175,117 km² (67,613 sq mi).

The largest country by area is Lithuania, at 65,300 km², about 37% of the total; the smallest is Estonia, at 45,228 km².

Lithuania has the most people, about 2.8 million (47% of the total), and Estonia the fewest, about 1.3 million. The most densely populated is Lithuania, with about 43 people per km².

None of the 3 countries is landlocked: every one has a coastline.

The Baltic states are the three countries on the eastern shore of the Baltic Sea: Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania. The United Nations geoscheme counts them in Northern Europe. Finland, Poland and the other countries around the sea are not called Baltic states and are shown as neighbours.
