Pick a national capital, then a non-capital, and keep alternating. A wrong pick costs a life. Read the explanation, then try the same category again. Cities are shuffled when you start, then stay in place throughout the round.

What counts as a capital?

We use the same 47 entries as our European country capitals quiz, including Cyprus, Turkey, Russia and Kosovo. Monaco and Vatican City count as city-state capitals. Regional capitals, constituent-country capitals and former capitals do not count as current national capitals.

Bern counts as Switzerland's federal city and de facto capital. Amsterdam counts as the Netherlands' capital, while The Hague does not. These rules apply in both modes.
