Karakalpakstan covers more than a third of the country, including the dried-up bed of the Aral Sea, while the crowded Fergana Valley in the east is shared by three small regions: Andijan, Fergana and Namangan.

For teachers
Tashkent City lies inside Tashkent Region and is numbered with a leader line. The capital of Tashkent Region is Nurafshon, not Tashkent, and Kashkadarya's is Qarshi – two good capitals questions. Tashkent City has no separate dot on the capitals sheet.
On the label-it and capitals sheets, pupils write the names on the numbered lines – or, where there are ten places or fewer, in the empty answer box joined to each place; the labelled map doubles as a reference sheet. All sheets are crisp black line maps with light shading, so they photocopy and print cleanly in black and white.
