How it works and sources
Every snippet is hand-picked and marked easy, medium or hard. Each round shows one you haven’t played yet, at the level you choose; once you have played them all, they come round again in a new order. A challenge link gives your friend the same snippet.
World snippets sit where continents meet: straits, canals and narrow seas. Overseas regions count for their country (Réunion and Mayotte are part of France), and territories such as Western Sahara or the Cayman Islands are shown in grey.
A country counts when a clearly visible piece of its land is inside the snippet, or at least half of the country is (small islands). Slivers along the edge do not count, and typing a country that is not in the snippet costs nothing.
The small map in the corner shows where the snippet is. It draws the region’s land without borders, so you get your bearings but no answers.
Vatican City is too small for the 1:50m map, so no snippet includes Rome.
Country shapes come from Natural Earth (public domain). Borders shown do not imply any position on disputed territory.
