Borders and sources
All 197 countries of our world quizzes: the 193 UN member states plus Vatican City, Palestine, Kosovo and Taiwan.
Neighbours are the land borders listed in the archived CIA World Factbook. Sea neighbours and bridges or tunnels (such as the Channel Tunnel) do not count.
Borders of overseas regions and exclaves count as the Factbook lists them: France borders Brazil and Suriname through French Guiana, Spain borders Morocco through Ceuta and Melilla, Russia borders Poland and Lithuania through Kaliningrad, and Denmark borders Canada on Hans Island (Greenland).
Borders of dependent territories that are not part of the country itself are not counted, such as Gibraltar (UK and Spain) and Saint Martin (France and the Netherlands).
Countries with no land neighbours in this quiz only appear when you type them.
