Learn all 20 regional capitals of Italy

Italy has 20 regions, and this quiz asks for their regional capitals rather than every provincial capital. Travel from Aosta in the Alps to Palermo in Sicily, learning which city belongs to each regional outline.

Do not assume the best-known city is the answer: L’Aquila is the capital of Abruzzo, and Catanzaro is the capital of Calabria. The two large island regions have different capitals—Palermo for Sicily and Cagliari for Sardinia.

Italian city names are accepted too

You can answer Florence or Firenze, Turin or Torino, Milan or Milano, Naples or Napoli, Genoa or Genova, Rome or Roma, and Venice or Venezia. L’Aquila also accepts Laquila without an apostrophe.

For Trentino-Alto Adige/Südtirol, the regional capital answer is Trento. Bolzano is the capital of the autonomous province of South Tyrol, not an additional region in this 20-question set. Begin with ten questions and choose all 20 when you want to test the full set.
