Follow each state name and click its location. Start with the larger outlines, such as Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh, then work towards the smaller northeastern states. Zoom in or pinch the map when you need a closer look.

States, not union territories
India has 28 states and eight union territories. This quiz tests states only. Delhi, Chandigarh, Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Puducherry, Lakshadweep, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, and Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu are not answers. Union territories are shown in a neutral shade where visible for geographic context.
You get three attempts per state. A first-try answer earns three points; later correct answers earn two or one. After a skip or three mistakes, click the highlighted state to learn its position before continuing.
