Eight flags are cut into one collage, each showing just a slice: a band, a corner, a wedge or a circle. Type the countries you recognise, in any order. A correct name outlines its flag and labels it; a country that isn’t in the collage just gets a note, so guess freely.

How it works and how the slices are chosen
Every round is a new collage of eight flags, each cut to a slice: a band, a corner, a wedge or a circle. Type the countries you recognise, in any order: a correct name outlines its tile and labels it. A country that isn’t in the collage just gets a note, so guess freely. Give up or run out of time and every tile is named. A challenge link replays the same collage, in any language.
Each slice is chosen to show what tells its flag apart: all three bands of a tricolour, the canton of a striped flag, the triangle at the hoist, or the emblem in the middle. Flags that are easy to mix up (Chad and Romania, Indonesia and Monaco, the Netherlands and Luxembourg, Ireland and Côte d’Ivoire, and many more) never appear in the same collage.
The easy world collage shows large slices of well-known flags; the hard one shows small slices of lesser-known flags, with 90 seconds instead of 60. The continent collages sit in between.
Flags are the ones our flag quizzes use. The world collage uses the best-known third of the world’s flags and the hard world collage the other two thirds; Europe, Africa, Asia and the Americas use every country of the continent (as in our continent quizzes, without Kosovo, Palestine or Taiwan).
