How it works
Every place of the map is drawn with its borders. We name one at a time, in a random order: click it and it is erased from the map, until the map is empty. One wrong click ends the round, and so does the clock. The counter shows how many places are still on the map. A challenge link replays the same prompts in the same order, in any language.
Small countries and islands are drawn larger so you can see and tap them, and a tap close to a small country counts as that country when it is the one we asked for. Drag to pan, and zoom with the + and − buttons, the mouse wheel or a pinch.
Land in grey is not in play and cannot be clicked: territories such as Greenland, Puerto Rico or Western Sahara and, on the continent maps, the neighbouring countries of other continents.
The countries are the 197 of our world quizzes (the UN members plus Kosovo, Palestine, Taiwan and Vatican City), with the continents of our continent quizzes; the Americas are North, Central and South America and the Caribbean. Shapes come from Natural Earth (1:50 million, public domain).
The capitals are the ones our capital quizzes use (Palestine uses Ramallah; for countries with more than one capital, the seat of government).
