How the rows are made
A row is the last three letters of at least two country names. Only letters count: spaces, hyphens and apostrophes are skipped, so Guinea-Bissau ends in SAU. Accents and capitals are ignored. Rows are sorted by their number of countries, then alphabetically.
Rows are built from the English names used across this site, without “The” (Gambia, Bahamas, Ivory Coast, Czech Republic). Other languages have their own rows, built from their own names.
All 197 countries of our world quizzes count: the 193 UN member states plus Vatican City, Palestine, Kosovo and Taiwan.
